Brandon Renner


Brandon has been practicing law for over 16 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in 2000, cum laude, and then his Juris Doctor from UIC John Marshall Law School, in 2003. Prior to entering the practice of law, Brandon served in the United States Navy from January 1993 through December 1996. He served as an Operations Specialist on board the Spruance-class destroyer, USS Kinkaid (DD-965), working in the combat information center (CIC) a/k/a: “combat”, the tactical nerve center of the ship. Additionally, Brandon coordinated radio/telephone operations with marine ground troops during naval gunfire support operations and held a secret clearance as a member of the Shipboard Intelligence Team.

Upon its return from deployment to the western Pacific, Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf, the USS Kinkaid underwent a period of overhaul at the Long Beach Naval Shipyard. During this time, Brandon was designated to serve as a member of the Admiral’s staff at Commander Destroyer Squadron Twenty-Three (COMDESRON 23) on board the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz (CVN-68). As a result of his naval service, Brandon was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Battle [Excellence] Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. Brandon is a “Golden” Shellback having been initiated at the crossing of the Equator at the 180th meridian (International Date Line).  Brandon is also an active member of VFW Post 1114.

As a veteran and lawyer, Brandon is personally dedicated and steadfast in his pursuit of helping veterans obtain the benefits they deserve. He is further committed to continuing education in the ever changing area of VA law and is a member of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates.

Jessica Knapp


Jessica is our firm’s leading case manager. She was awarded a full academic scholarship, having graduated from Oakland City University, with Honors, in 2006, with a bachelor’s degree in both Social Science and Humanities.

Jessica has been working with veterans benefits for nearly ten years and has helped hundreds of veterans collectively receive millions of dollars in backpay awards. She started her career at Woods & Woods while they were in the early stages of development and quickly found that helping veterans was something she was incredibly passionate about. Her knowledge and experience have earned her a reputation as one of the top VA case managers in the country. Consequently, continuing education is very important to Jessica. She is a member of the National Organization of Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA) and attends bi-annual conferences to ensure she is current on all VA disability law related issues.

Jessica is an active member of her church and enjoys volunteering in veteran organizations throughout her local community and on a national level – one of her favorites is Sheep Dog Impact Assistance.

Bryttanie R. Jackson


Bryttanie joined our firm as a VA case manager in January of 2020. She received her Associate Degree in Business Administration from Ivy Tech Community College in 2017, with scholastic honors, and was recognized as the “Outstanding Student” of her graduating class. Upon graduation, Bryttanie immediately realized that her calling was to help others and soon began her training in VA disability law.

Bryttanie has an exceptional personality and desire to win. In her own words, Bryttanie states: “I have the most profound gratitude for our veterans. Although we can never truly repay them for their sacrifices, I owe them my best!”

On a personal level, Bryttanie leads a life group with her husband and is very active in her church. Among other hobbies, she enjoys attending concerts and spending time outdoors.

Amanda Hill, MHA, CNMT, RT(R)


Amanda graduated from the University of Cincinnati, summa cum laude, in 2017, having earned a Master of Health Administration. She also obtained undergraduate degrees, with Honors, at the University of Southern Indiana and Jefferson Community and Technical College Louisville, in Radiologic Technology and Nuclear Medicine, respectively.

Amanda’s passion for patient advocacy developed during her 14-year tenure, in direct clinical care, as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Ascension Health. She is now dedicated to maximizing each veteran’s benefits to positively impact health outcomes and quality of life.

Amanda remains an active member in the professional societies of Nuclear Medicine and Radiologic Technology. She enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering to support charitable organizations, such as Easterseals Rehabilitation Center.
