James McCallum II is a U.S. Army veteran with fifteen years of honorable service and a seasoned mental health professional with over eight years of experience. His military career, marked by leadership, team-building, and strategic planning, has given him a deep understanding of the challenges veterans face—both in service and after transitioning to civilian life.
During his Army tenure, James served as a Team Leader, where he was responsible for mission readiness, risk management, and training development for his unit. His experience in high-pressure environments instilled in him a commitment to efficiency, adaptability, and problem-solving—skills that seamlessly translate into his work assisting fellow veterans today.
Following his military service, James pursued a career in mental health, becoming a therapist and case manager specializing in trauma, grief, and crisis intervention. His work at the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Readjustment Counselor allowed him to provide critical support to veterans navigating the complexities of post-service life. Additionally, he has held roles as a Therapist and Assistant Director at Prairie View Therapeutic Group Homes and the Owner of Thrive Therapy, where he has helped clients achieve stability and independence through intensive therapy.
Now, as a Case Manager at National Vet Help, James applies his extensive experience in both military and mental health fields to advocate for veterans seeking VA disability benefits.
